Winter Wonderland...

So, it finally became winter here...

It's rough, cold and windy... I love it...! The snow don't really settle though, because in the city, there's so much traffic, that the streets heat up and the air too... It makes me in a much better mood this weather, I'm insane that way...

Also, starting classes again has been a thrill... I have almost none, but starting was great...

I'm off again, but be safe, and beware of slippery icy streets...

SHOPPING...!!!

You know, sometimes I'm amazed at how girly I can really be sometimes... Like my shopping sprees for instance... After Christmas I've gone quite insane...! As a Christmas gift, we got a pretty nice amount of money form my in laws, and decided that it was time for us to buy a new bookcase, since we (or rather our ever-expanding collection of books) have grown out of the old one... We ended up with this, only without the cabinet:

I've quite fallen in love with this solution, because if you suddenly need more room, you can just add another case (they come in different sizes) or put on a extra shelf on the top... Also I've always liked the idea of having a dark and cosy English-styled library, and this brings me a little closer I think... Along with the bookcase I bought a sheepskin to sit on in my favorite chair, so I don't freeze my a.. off during winter:-)

Besides those sensible and necessary things, I've been out shopping for myself today, and brought home a pretty top, a lot like this one from Topshop, only a little shorter and in a light grey colour:

I really like it, and think I'll wear it with a chunky, long silver chain wrapped around my neck twice ( also a new purchase) and skinny jeans...

Just to give my boyfriend something more to complain about, I also bought a big, vintage-inspired black bag... My boyfriend seems to think that I have plenty of bags, and made that clear when my darling sister gave me another big cognac-coloured bag for Christmas... But honestly, I don't have more than max. 10, and not one black one... For some reason I used to think that most black bags looked too boring, but this one is gorgeous...

All in all, I've pretty much used my clothes budget for this month...

Christmas, love and being moved to tears...

Hi everyone...

I just got home, and here the time is around 12.30 a.m... We were at my sisters house for Christmas, we being me, my boyfriend, brother and mom, my sister, her husband and her three kids...

Here in Denmark we celebrate Christmas the 24., so we did that yesterday, and today my boyfriend and I went to see his dad and stepmother... The 24. was perfect...! We had the best time, just eating, drinking, relaxing and opening presents... My boyfriend isn't really keen on Christmas, but since he started spending it with my family last year, he has had to reevaluate that position... It seems that Christmas with my family is just relaxed enough for him...!

So, like I said before, we went to see my "in-laws" today... We had lunch, and then we went to this park to look at deer (on his niece's request)... On the way home, I had one of these rare flashes of complete and utter happiness that I have sometimes... I looked at my boyfriend, and realized that I'd never been happier, and it actually moved me to tears (or at least I got all teary eyed)...

So, all in all, this has been the best Christmas I've had since I was a kid... I hope I'm not the only one...! So merry Christmas, and a very, very happy new year...!!!

Sleepless Nights

There is something incredible calming about being up till late at night, isn't there...? I've been doing that far too much lately, staying up that is... Yesterday I actually didn't wake up till 2 o'clock... Which is really bad since I should be writing a lit. paper...!

Tonight however, I have promised myself to go to bed early... I'm going shopping for Christmas presents tomorrow, and I don't want to be grumpy and off... I take great pride in my normal Christmas spirit, so being stressed out and tired would ruin my day... And it's not really that big a deal anyway, since all I'm missing is presents for my mom and brother, and I know exactly what I'm getting for them...

I really like Christmas shopping though, all the decorations and the lights, and being the only one that isn't in a hurry...

Kittens - or little devils...

Hi...

I just thought I'd share my babies with you... The kitten with all the hair is Felix Domesticus, which means house cat in Latin, the other kitten's called Beowulf or beef for short and the mummy is just called Cat... She really does have blue eyes by the way, so light in colour that they almost look white...

Cat just showed up on our doorstep during the spring, at that time she was no-more than a big kitten herself, and now she's suddenly got kittens of her own...

Felix has found a new home with one of my friends, but Beef is still here, so right now we have two cats living in a small one-bedroom apartment... A little crowded at times...

They look so cute, don't they...? But well, when you know them, you know better than that....

How to celebrate!!!

Hey there...

So I had an exam yesterday, translation, a 4 hour sit-down exam... I left after a little more than two though... For some reason it seemed impossible to me to be quiet, first my computer started to blip (very loudly by the way) and then I accidentally dropped my dictionaries on the floor... I was done really, so after that I decided that I'd better leave...

I went down to the campus-pub afterwards, and as the rest of my classmates finished, they joined me there... It was really cosy, but I was tired like hell... I was really close to falling asleep, that was until I confirmed my classmates' prejudice, and ordered a quadruple espresso... They usually tease me about my enormous consumption of coffee... After that (and a double about ½ an hour later) I luckily woke up... People started leaving around 3 o'clock, and we ended up being 5 people left, so we started to play this movie-game that some of my classmates invented... It's basically a mix of charades and trivia, first you each get five little pieces of paper, on each piece you write the title of a movie, and the you mix all the folded notes and put them on the middle of the table... You play in groups of two or three, and in the first round one person has to get the others on his/her team to guess the name on the note by explaining things about the movie (names of actors included) but without using words from the title, you'll get one minute to guess as many titles as possible... Next round you can only use one word, and the final round you have to mime... It can be funny as hell, and yesterday it was...

When we left the pub, I went to see a guy from my class, who had invited me and two other guys we know to his place to sing karaoke and talk... We had a good time until he unfortunately had to much to drink and got sick... We then relocated to one of the other guys place, and there we played guitar and sang till almost 3 o'clock...

A good way to celebrate an exam that was well over...!!!

Hi,

I haven't ever done one of these before, so i don't really know what to write, but here goes...

I handed in a paper earlier today, you know one of these scary, scientific paper that focus on weird knowledge of different -isms... And I just know it stank...! Of cause this is supposed to leave me in a really bad mood, but honestly it's just one of these days were I don't feel like dealing...

Currently, I' doing laundry, or that is I'm supposed to do so... It's just to beautiful an evening to fold clothes...! There is this crisp feeling in the air, that only happens in the winter, and I've been waiting for this in weeks... It's been annoyingly hot this month, and it's December for God's sake... If it wasn't because my neighborhood isn't up there with the best of them, I'd go for a walk, that's what one should do on a night like this...

Instead, I'll have to imagine that walk and go fetch my laundry...

Hopefully my next input will be more interesting, but you have to start somewhere, right...?
